The Fuentes-Dumas scholarship recognizes the struggle and work to achieve excellence.
ASID Washington Metro is committed to helping rising interior design professionals launch and grow their careers. The Fuentes-Dumas Scholarship offers a $3,000 award to qualified applicants whose work is judged by local ASID members.
KEY DATES
· Scholarship opens for applications Monday March 16, 2026
· Completed application date Monday June 8, 2026 11:59 PM EDT
· The Fuentes-Dumas Scholarship will be awarded at the Annual Meeting, date and place TBD 2026
· The winner will be notified a month before the Annual Meeting to plan to be at the event to receive the scholarship
ELIGIBILTY:
- Must be a student Member ASID and submit member number or the award will be reduced by the cost of membership ($49.00) and the student will be registered as a member
- Must be receiving financial aid for your education
- Entering your Junior year or higher
- Attending an Interior Design program in one of the following schools
- Anne Arundel Community Colldge (AACC)
- Community College of Baltimore County, Catonsville Campus (CCBC)
- The George Washinton University
- Howard University
- Marymount university, Arlington
- Morgan State University
- Montgomery College
- Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA)
- Must submit and completer all documents or application will be Disqualified

- May only be awarded once to any student
HOW THE JUDGING WILL WORK
The submissions will be blind judged by using a random numbering reference system to eliminate the name of the student, college and identifying information fo professores/ references.
Portfolio items must not identify the student or school.
Judging will be performed by a group of 5-7 ASID members including two Professionals ASID members, onne Allied Member, onrecent Interior Design graduate withing the last 3 years, and one Industry Partner minimum
